The Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg shifted its meeting time on Wednesday, August 23rd, to 6:00 PM to perform a service project for the community and the club. It cleaned up the landscaping around the Welcome to Mechanicsburg sign which the club erected in 2005 to honor the 100th anniversary of the founding of Rotary. It also relocated and landscaped around a granite marker which was placed to dedicate a row of trees which the club had planted in 2000 to create a barrier between the ball fields at Memorial Park and the adjacent trucking operations.

This community service project is the second one done during this club year under the direction of President Amy Bockis with Dave Burns doing the planning and coordination of this project. It is Amy's goal to complete one service project each month as a way of becoming more involved in the community in a hands on way.
